The farm “Lo Scoglio” (The  Rock) is located in the middle of a stunning and characteristically beautiful tuscany landscape that is made up of spacious green fields and rolling hills lying as it does beneath the thickly wooded slopes of Monte Amiata and near to the small and picturesque village of Montenero d’Orcia. The farm is managed by its owner Luigi Innocenti, who was born and worked on the family farm up until 30 years ago when he decided to start up a farm of his own. For a number of years Luigi’s eldest son, Daniele, has proven to be a valid and irreplaceable help in running the farm.He has assisted in a multitude of different tasks, and bearing in mind his young age has shown a remarkable capacity for the work involved. The activities of the farm, which covers an area of 60 hectars, are typical, being that of :  rearing livestock for milk and meat;  cultivating cereals;  the cultivation of olives and subsequent production of an excellent extra virgin oil;  and viticulture. Since the establishment in the area, a few years ago, of the label DOC (a certificate stating that the product is of good quality) for wine and IGT (a certificate confirming that this is a good product from the area) for oil, a new activity has been added to the farm, which is that of bottling and selling these products under the label of, “Lo Scoglio”. Participation at trade fairs such as “Vinitaly” 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2004 in Verona, “La Dolce Vite” in 2002 in Rome, and others, have resulted in the farm being recognized for the high quality of its products.
